PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dilator manufacturing method, etc., the dilator to be used in a sheath introducer having excellent insertion property.SOLUTION: A dilator manufacturing method includes: a step of preparing a thermoplastic resin tube material a step of inserting a core material to the tube material and a processing step of performing processing by inserting the tube material with the core material inserted thereto to a metal mold and transmitting heat from the metal mold to the tube material. The metal mold includes a first metal mold part for processing a first tube part to be connected to a non-processing part that is not to be processed in the processing step among parts to be processed in the processing step concerning the tube material.
