PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form a concave shape part or a convex shape part in an absorbent article.SOLUTION: The shape retaining member 5 is a band shape member curbing in a substantially arcuate shape. The shape retaining member 5 assumes a substantially circular truncated conical shape by both ends of the shape retaining member 5 being fixed each to other when the shape retaining member 5 is used. Then, smaller opening edges 58a of the shape retaining member 5 are arranged so as to face a back sheet 23 in a middle part facing a crotch part of a wearer of an auxiliary absorber 1. Thereafter, the absorber body 2 of the auxiliary absorber 1 is deformed so as to be arranged along an outer side face of the shape retaining member 5 and a securing member 52a on an outer side face of the shape retaining member 5 is detachably secured to the back sheet 23 which is an outside face of the auxiliary absorber 1. Thus, the convex part 204 protruding toward wearers side is easily formed by attaching the shape retaining member 5 to the middle part of the auxiliary absorber 1. As a result, the middle part can be brought into close contact with the crotch part of the wearer in the auxiliary absorber 1 worn by the wearer.
