PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which an absorber is easily deformed and wearability in a crotch area is further improved.SOLUTION: A disposable diaper 1 as the embodiment of an absorbent article includes an absorbent body 10 having an absorber 4, and an exterior body 5. The absorber 4 has an absorbent core 41 and a covering material 42. The exterior body 5 is constituted of a separate member in an abdominal side exterior body 5A, a back side exterior body 5B, and a crotch exterior body 5C. The absorbent core 41 has a pair of side part penetration slits 43 and 43. In each of the side part penetration slits 43, a skin side covering material 42U is joined to a non-skin side covering material 42D of the covering material 42. In an area overlapping each of the side part penetration slits 43 in a thickness direction (Z direction), the skin side covering material 42U is joined to the top sheet 2, the non-skin side covering material 42D is joined to a rear surface sheet 3, and the rear surface sheet 3 is joined to the exterior body 5.
