PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Daifuku rice cake (rice cake stuffed with sweetened bean jam) since change of taste of food is increased, appearance of Daifuku rice cake that is different from bread, has high density, moist feeling, so-called springy texture and excellent nutrition and is eaten as a health food is expected, consequently yam that is used only as thickening for rice cake dough, so to say, is a supporting player and selected as a major player due to excellent medicinal effects to achieve new texture besides light rice cake texture and nutrient balance.

SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing yam-containing Daifuku rice cake that takes in a yam 4 cut into a prescribed waveform as an ingredient, has light rice cake texture by an inner wrapping material 3 wrapped with bean jam and an outer wrapping material 2 of black sesame-containing dough and excellent nutrition, is eaten as a health food, achieves texture and has a medicinal effect is provided. The Daifuku rice cake 1 is produced by the method. The bean jam may be combined with adzuki bean jam with powdered green tea, pumpkin, purple sweet potato, fresh cream, fermented soybean paste, chocolate, fruit jam, custard cream, etc.
