PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an absorber that can easily and efficiently produce the absorber of sparse and dense structure.SOLUTION: The method for producing the absorber includes: (1) an accumulation step of forming an accumulated body 55 by suction-accumulating an absorbent material on a first core wrap sheet 3 supplied onto the outer peripheral surface of a fiber stacking drum 50, and (2) an absorber precursor forming step of obtaining an absorber precursor 56 by covering the exposed surface of the accumulated body 55 with a second core wrap sheet 4. A sheet that has a low air permeating part 31 of relatively low air permeability and a high air permeating part 32 of relatively high air permeability is used as the first core wrap sheet 3.
