This lactic acid bacteria belongs to the genus Enterococcus and has the accession number NITE BP-02309 in the Patent Microorganism Depositary (NPMD) of the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE). As a result of having α-glycosidase inhibitory activity, the lactic acid bacteria suppresses increases in blood sugar caused by sucrose intake.
