PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental material of a glass filler for sustained ion release, which is used in filling, prosthetic repair, temporary sealing, temporary bonding, preparation of a prosthetic appliance, adhesion/luting, pit-and-fissure sealing, or the like in a dental treatment, and which sustainably releases metal ions in a sufficient amount, the metal ions existing in a glass composition.SOLUTION: A deagglomerated glass filler for sustained ion release is obtained by sequentially conducting: a silane compound-treating step of coating a surface of a glass filler for sustained ion release with a silane compound to produce a silane compound-treated glass filler for sustained ion release an acidic polymer-treating step of treating the silane compound-treated glass filler for sustained ion release with an acidic polymer to produce an acidic polymer-treated glass filler for sustained ion release and a deagglomerating step of deagglomerating the acidic polymer-treated glass filler for sustained ion release.
