PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article with improved diffusibility of liquid on an absorber.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 10 includes: a liquid permeable surface sheet 14 a liquid impermeable rear surface sheet 12 and an absorber 13 arranged between the surface sheet 14 and the rear surface sheet 12. In the absorber 13, a plurality of recesses 508 are formed on surface on the side of the surface sheet 14. The plurality of recesses 508 form a first pattern 501a extending in a first direction and a second pattern 501b extending in a second direction crossing the first direction. Cross sectional areas vertical to the first direction and the second direction of the recesses 508 positioned in a central area of the absorber 13 are larger than cross sectional areas vertical to the first direction and the second direction of the recesses 508 positioned in peripheral areas of the absorber 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
