PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which an absorbent article where grid-shaped recesses for securing suppleness are formed in an absorbent body does not have excellent touch since a surface sheet is torn up when recesses are molded and has big difference in rigidity in one part of the recesses.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 10 includes a liquid permeable surface sheet 21, a liquid impermeable rear surface sheet 20, and an absorbent body 14 which is made into a narrow, long sheet and has an absorber 22 arranged between the surface sheet 21 and the rear surface sheet 20, and has a plurality of recesses 25 formed on the surface on the side of the surface sheet 21 of the absorbent body 14.
