PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of quickly absorbing a fluid, dispersing the fluid inside an absorber, and efficiently absorbing and retaining the fluid while controlling dispersion of the fluid on a front surface sheet even if the fluid is repeatedly excreted or a large amount of fluid is excreted by further improving the absorbability of a conventional absorbent article.SOLUTION: The absorbent article includes: the liquid permeable front surface sheet disposed on a skin abutting surface side a rear surface sheet disposed on a non-abutting surface side and an absorber interposed between the sheets. The front surface sheet is made of a non-woven fabric, and the absorber has an absorbent core and a covering sheet which covers the core. A plurality of rear surface recesses dented toward the skin abutting surface side are adjacently dispersed on the non-abutting surface side of the front surface sheet, and the cover sheet enters the rear surface recesses. A space is present between the cover sheet entering the recesses and the absorbent core.
