PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article excellent in the leakage preventive performance.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes a nonwoven fabric front surface sheet 2 which forms a skin opposing surface P, a rear surface sheet and an absorber 4 disposed between the sheets, and liquid-impermeable or hardly-permeable side sheets 7 are disposed on both sides of the absorbent article in the longitudinal direction. The front surface sheet 2 has recesses 20 and projections 23 on the skin opposing surface, and a linear embossed part 21 is formed in the bottom of each recess 20. A part 72 of each side sheet 7 is disposed on the absorber 4, and a part 2U of the front surface sheet 2 is disposed on the side sheet 7 on the absorber 4. A joint part 8 where the side sheet 7 and the front surface sheet 2 are joined to each other is formed to extend in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article 1 with a space to a side edge 71 of the side sheet 7 located on the absorber 4. The linear embossed part 21 obliquely crosses the joint part 8.
