PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front surface sheet for an absorbent article having bottomed liquid introducing recesses, and excellent cushioning property and liquid transferring property to an absorber.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 10 comprises the liquid permeable front surface sheet 1, a rear surface sheet 11 and the absorber 12 interposed between the sheets. The absorbent article 10 is substantially vertically long. The front surface sheet 1 is made of non-woven fabric 2, which has a surface part 3 with front surface 31 side brought into contact with the skin, and a number of liquid introducing recesses 4 having peripheral walls 43 and bottoms 44 and projecting toward the absorber side. The front surface sheet 1 has a high-rigidity part 45 in the border or in the vicinity of the border between the surface part 3 and the peripheral wall 41 of each liquid introducing recess 43 as seen from the cross section in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article. The rigidity of the high-rigidity part 45 is higher than that of the surface part 3 or the peripheral wall 43.
