PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a health supplement based on a fact that red bean cedar is a tree with high rarity value, which currently lives only in China, contains various medicinal ingredients, and is known as a therapeutic agent for diabetes and known to be processed into a health tea using the extract thereof, the hypoglycemic effect of the red bean cedar being thought to be based on its insulin secretion-promoting action based on its pancreatic protective action, but its insulin resistance-improving effect being stronger than the above action in some cases.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a health supplement. Here, the health supplement in combination with a medicine for promoting secretion of healthy insulin can suppress the secretion of insulin to an adequate level. In order to improve insulin resistance, a patient who have taken conventional diabetes medicine and failed to obtain adequate improvement was taken a health supplementary food containing the extract of red bean cedar as the main ingredient. As a result, the drinking the red tea allowed the patient to attain an improvement in diabetes.SELECTED DRAWING: NoneCOPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT【課題】紅豆杉は、現在は中国にしか生息せず、希少価値の高い樹木である。多種の薬用成分を含み、糖尿病の治療剤としても知られている。また、紅豆杉のエキスを健康茶とすることも知られている。この紅豆杉の血糖降下作用は、膵臓保護作用に基づくインスリン分泌促進作用に基づくものと考えられてきたが、症例により、インスリン抵抗性改善作用のほうがより強いということがわかった。【解決手段】インスリンの分泌を促進するための医薬と併用して、インスリンの分泌を適正値に抑えることができる。インスリン抵抗性を改善させるために、紅豆杉のエキスを主原料とする健康補助食品として患者に服用させる。従来の糖尿病の内服薬を服用していて、十分に改善が得られなかった患者に対して、紅豆杉の健康茶を飲用させて糖尿病が改善した。【選択図】なし
