PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which a surface sheet dose not float up from an absorbent body and which has superior absorptivity and good use feeling such as fitting feeling.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes a surface sheet 10 comprising nonwoven fabric which has rib parts 20 and groove parts 30 alternately extended in the longitudinal direction, the groove parts 30 having openings 31. Side groove 60 are formed on right and left sides of the article 1 in the lateral direction so as to be extended in the longitudinal direction of the article 1. The side grooves 60 have straight parts 60A almost in parallel with the rib parts 20 in an excretion part-facing area A, and slanting parts 60D, 60E which are connected to the end parts of the straight parts 60A and are extended in the center direction or outward in a width direction in the border areas respectively with the excretion part facing area A, a front area B, an a rear area C.
