PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article wherein a surface sheet is not removed upward, absorbability is excellent, and a sense of use like tactile sensation, etc. is good.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article has raised parts 20 and groove parts 30 which extend in a longitudinal direction of an article 1 and are located alternately, and has a surface sheet 10 which is made of a nonwoven fabric having pores 31 in the groove parts 30. A lateral groove 60 is formed in right and left lateral areas in a width direction so as to extend in the longitudinal direction of the article 1. The lateral groove 60 has straight parts 60A which are almost parallel to the raised parts 20 in an excretion part-opposite area A, and has skew parts 60D and 60E which are connected to ends of the straight parts 60A and extend toward a middle of its width direction or outward in each boundary area with the excretion part-opposite area A, a front area B and a rear area C respectively.
