PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade contact between the face of a subject or a face support unit and an apparatus case body, and to suppress the invasion of dust, etc., to the inner part of the apparatus.
SOLUTION: The ophthalmic apparatus comprises: a measurement unit that has an intraocular pressure measuring section for squirting a fluid at the cornea of an eye to be examined through a nozzle and measures the intraocular pressure of the eye to be examined and an eye characteristics measuring section for measuring the optical characteristics of the eye to be examined, and is arranged so as to make the measurement optical axes of the respective measuring sections be vertically different in height a measurement mode changeover means for changing-over an intraocular pressure measurement mode and an eye characteristic measurement mode a position changing means for moving the nozzle at least in a front and rear direction with respect to the eye characteristics measuring section, and changing a nozzle distal end position into a usage position and a storage position a shutter insertion/extraction mechanism for arranging the shutter in front of the nozzle positioned at the storage position in an insertable/extractable manner and a control means for controlling operations of the position changing means and the shutter insertion/extraction mechanism in response to the measurement mode changed-over by the measurement mode changeover means.
