PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably align subjects eyes.
SOLUTION: The ophthalmic apparatus for examining or measuring a subjects eye, has: a moving base disposed to mechanically horizontally move on a base by an operation of an operation member an optometry section disposed to horizontally move on the moving base by the driving of a first electric mechanism section fixing means for fixing the moving base to the base mode changeover means changing over between an automatic mode for aligning the subjects eye by the actuation of a first electric drive mechanism section, with the moving base fixed to a predetermined position on the base by the fixing means, and a manual mode for aligning the subjects eye by the operation of the operation member, with the fixed moving base released and drive control means moving the moving base to the predetermined position by the driving of a second electric mechanism section based on an input of a changeover signal from the manual mode to the automatic mode.
