An ophthalmologic photographing apparatus includes a light source configured to emit photographing light for illuminating a subjects eye through an illumination optical system, a changing unit configured to change a light emission amount of the light source, a selecting unit configured to select at least one of a plurality of photographing modes for photographing the subjects eye, a storage unit configured to store the changed light emission amount by the changing unit as a changed value during the photography in the photographing mode selected by the selecting unit, and a setting unit configured to set a light emission amount at a start of the photography to a light emission amount which is set beforehand as an initial state of the light source or to the changed value according to the plurality of photographing modes.
