PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism capable of retaining an automatic imaging function even in a subjects eye with fixation abnormality.SOLUTION: A system control part 17 performs alignment of a photographing optical system with respect to a subjects eye E, after completion of the alignment, measures a retention time of the alignment retaining the alignment state, and determines whether or not the subjects eye E has the fixation abnormality.
