PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating carpophore through breeding new Lyophyllum ulmarium strain which becomes multiple stem and using the strain. SOLUTION: This method for cultivating the carpophore of the new Lyophyllum ulmarium strain comprises inoculating the new strain to a medium to form the carpophore. The new Lyophyllum ulmarium strain (excluding mating strain of Lyophyllum ulmarium Lu 1-13 with Lyophyllum ulmarium Lu 1-8) has average at least 65 stems each with a length of at least 20 mm when carpophore is produced in a conventional method through inoculating 10 g of solid spawn to a medium obtained by mixing sawdust (mixture of cryptomeria sawdust and beech sawdust with equal volume) with rice bran at volume percent of 3:1 followed by preparing the moisture content of the resultant product at 63% and packing by pressure the resultant product in a widemouthed bottle (inside diameter of 60 mm) of 850 ml volume and made from polypropylen so as to bring the content amount to 535 g.
