The present invention relates to an apparatus for peeling onions comprising: a conveyor belt transferring onions horizontally a cutting means installed on the upper side of the conveyor belt and forming cutting grooves in a constant depth on the skins of the onions transferred along the conveyor belt an air spraying means installed on the same position as the cutting means to spray compressed air into the cutting grooves formed by the cutting means and a compressing means compressing the onions transferred along the conveyor belt to fix the onions while the cutting grooves are formed by the cutting means and the compressed air is sprayed by the air spraying means.
