PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface sheet of absorbent article in which liquid moves quickly and smoothly from the surface to the absorbent body, and little liquid remains in the surface sheet to give a feeling of dryness, and which has good liquid permeability even against liquid especially such as menstrual blood having viscosity distribution, and has good skin touch feeling.
SOLUTION: The surface sheet includes fiber aggregate containing thermally extensible fiber. In the fiber aggregate, linear embosses 14, 14, ..., extending in one direction (X-direction) while meandering in a wave or zigzag form exist, and projection parts 16, 19 surrounded by the linear embosses 14 are formed so as to be in a line in the X-direction. The projections 16, 19 form a mountain range structure wherein large projection parts 19 having large area and height and small projection parts 16 having relatively small area and height alternately exist in the X-direction. The mountain range structure is intermittently arranged in the Y-direction orthogonal to the X-direction. A ridge 20 continuously extending in the X-direction is formed between adjoining mountain range structures.
