PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article reconciling high flexibility and the sufficient bonding strength between members in the peripheral edge part of the absorbent article and attaining a good wearing feeling free from a feeling of physical disorder.SOLUTION: The absorbent article includes a surface sheet containing thermally extensible fibers, a back sheet arranged on the side of a skin non-contact surface and the absorber interposed between both sheets and having a longitudinal direction and the width direction crossing the same at a right angle and has the peripheral edge part outwardly extending to the peripheral edge of the absorber on a plan view. The linear embosses applied to the surface sheet and the region surrounded by the linear embosses are provided to the peripheral edge part and spotted embosses for bonding the surface and back sheets are formed to the region surrounded by the linear embosses. The thermally extensible fibers of the surface sheet are thermally extended after the linear embosses are formed.
