PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope, which can accurately adjust a bright point position of an arc.SOLUTION: A light source device 20 for an endoscope includes a discharge lamp ML that supplies light to a tip of an insertion part of the endoscope via a light guiding fiber 15 arranged in the endoscope 10, and a magnet MG that applies a Lorentz force to an arc formed between a cathode MLN and an anode MLP of the discharge lamp.
