PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which enables the adjustment of light volume safely and easily.
SOLUTION: The light source device for an endoscope includes a light source lamp, a lamp moving gear attached to the light source lamp, a rotation mechanism for rotating the lamp moving gear, and an operation section arranged on the outside of an enclosure of the light source device for an endoscope, wherein the rotation mechanism is operated by the operation section.
