PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope which enables appropriate and easy replacement of a light source lamp.
SOLUTION: In the light source device for an endoscope which includes a plurality of the light source lamps, a detecting means for detecting whether each of the plurality light source lamps burns out or not, and a display means for displaying a warning screen for informing that the replacement of the light source lamp is required on a monitor, the display means is configured to display the warning screen on the monitor when the detecting means detects that at least one of the plurality of the light source lamps burns out, and the endoscope is not connected to the light source device for an endoscope.
