PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extensible and contractible sheet showing good shape-retainability of a rugged structure.
SOLUTION: The extensible and contractible sheet 10 is made by bonding many elastic members 13, the elastic members 13 not crossing each other but extending in one direction, to the whole length of the extensible and contractible sheets 11 and 12 without being substantially stretched. The extensible and contractible sheet 10 has the first area 101 which contains the elastic members 13 with a relatively smaller distance between the elastic members 13, and the second area 102 which contains the elastic members 13 with a relatively larger distance between the elastic members 13 or which does not contain the elastic members 13. The surface of the extensible and contractible sheet 10 is substantially flat in the first area 101. A protrusive part 111 and a recessed part 112 each extending in the direction perpendicular to the extending direction of the elastic members 13 are formed alternately in the extending direction of the elastic members 13 in the second area 102.
