PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire which has a distal end with enhanced flexibility to improve blood vessel selectivity and enables an operator to easily recognize the twist direction of a core shaft configuring the guide wire.SOLUTION: The guide wire includes a core shaft 2 and a coil body 25 wound around the distal end of the core shaft 2. The core shaft 2 has a helically shaped part 14 having a flat cross section, inside the coil body 25.
