PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soybean protein-containing cheese-like food having molding processing suitability for molding into a shape suitable for shredding and cooking, and heat resistant shape retentionability.SOLUTION: A soybean protein-containing acid-treated starch having a low degree of acid treatment, an oil having a rising melting point of 20 to 50°C, and water are mixed, homogenized, and heat-treated with a tube-type heat exchanger or a direct steam blowing-type sterilizer. The treated mixture is then cooled to make a soybean protein-containing cheese-like food having heat resistant shape retentionability. As soybean protein-containing raw material, soybean milk, separated soybean protein, concentrated soybean protein, or soybean flour is used. The soybean protein-containing cheese-like food has a hardness measured by a rheometer at 5°C of 500 g to 2000 g/19.6 mm(round plunger having a diameter of 5 mm, table speed: 50 mm/min).
