PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for folding a sheet-like food dough, by which the sheet-like food dough can be folded without using a conventional flexible sheet, and to provide an apparatus therefore.
SOLUTION: A folding member for folding the periphery of a food dough A includes a swinging member swingably supported on a lifting or lowering chuck portion associated and connected to a lifting mechanism, and a flexible member covering from the opposite insides of the swinging member to the outside through an upper end. The flexible member can follow the lifting and swinging of the swinging member, and when the swinging member is lifted or lowered, the flexible member gradually moves a contact end position upward or downward with the lower side of a sheet-like food dough 5 without sliding on the lower side of the sheet-like food dough 5.
