PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmologic examination apparatus capable of detecting whether or not a predetermined examination region is correctly observed and to provide an examination method for operating the ophthalmologic examination apparatus.SOLUTION: An ophthalmologic examination apparatus comprises: an examination optical system including an anterior eye part observing optical system for observing an anterior eye part of a subject eye 2 an optical system moving mechanism 95 for rotationally moving the examination optical system a display part 110 for displaying an image of the anterior eye part of the subject eye 2 a position specification part 109 for accepting a specification of a region to be examined of the subject eye 2 a rotation angle calculating part 111 for calculating, as a rotation angle, an angle to be satisfied at examination time between an eye axis of the subject eye 2 and an optical axis of the anterior eye part observing optical system on the basis of the position information of the region to be examined and an ideal display position calculating part 131 for calculating an ideal display position of a specific spot of the image of the anterior eye part to be displayed on the display part 110 while the examination optical system is rotationally moved by the rotation angle from a reference position.
