PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root-cutting apparatus capable of performing a root cutting work of leaf vegetables cultivated in hydroponics reliably and efficiently, and a hydroponic system equipped with the apparatus.SOLUTION: A root-cutting apparatus 10 includes a plurality of cutters 26 and performs root cutting of leaf vegetables cultivated in hydroponics by using a hydroponic panel. Each of the plurality of cutters 26 comprises: a rotation base part that receives driving force from a driving source 36； and blade parts made of synthetic resin which are formed in a long linear shape and extend radially from peripheral parts of the rotation base part, and is provided so as to be proximate to a rear surface of hydroponic panel conveyed on a support part 14. Then, the plurality of cutters 26 are arranged in an array in a width direction such that cutting regions of the cutters cover a whole range in a width direction of a planting region of the hydroponic panel when the blade parts bulge along the rear surface of the hydroponic panel by centrifugal force during rotation. Because the cutters having blade parts which are made of synthetic resin and are formed in a long linear shape are used, a root-cutting work of leaf vegetables can be reliably and efficiently performed.【課題】水耕栽培された葉菜類の根切り作業を確実かつ効率的に行うことができる、根切り装置およびそれを備える水耕栽培システムを提供する。【解決手段】根切り装置１０は、複数のカッタ２６を含み、水耕パネルを用いて水耕栽培された葉菜類の根切りを行う。複数のカッタ２６は、駆動源３６からの駆動力を受ける回転基部と、細長い線状に形成されて回転基部の周縁部から放射状に延びる合成樹脂製の刃部とを備え、支持部１４上を搬送される水耕パネルの裏面と近接するように設けられる。そして、複数のカッタ２６は、回転時の遠心力によって刃部が水耕パネルの裏面に沿うように張り出した際に、その切断域が水耕パネルの植栽域の幅方向全範囲に亘るように幅方向に並べて配置される。【効果】細長い線状に形成される合成樹脂製の刃部を有するカッタを用いたので、葉菜類の根切り作業を確実かつ効率的に行うことができる。【選択図】図１
