The present invention relates to a red pepper paste using pieces of rice and a manufacturing method thereof. According to the present invention, the method for manufacturing a rice red pepper paste comprises the steps of: preparing pieces of rice by splitting whole rice and processing the same； increasing pieces of rice after immersing the same and adding water； and making rice koji by inoculating and incubating koji mold into the increased pieces of rice.
