The present invention relates to a medical irrigation and tissue collection system (10) for introducing fluid into and withdrawing fluid from a body cavity via a fluid line. The system (10) includes a container (12) having an interior for holding fluid a pump bulb (14) in fluid communication with the container (12) that may be securely attached using means other than pure friction a tube (20) having a first end portion connected with the fluid line and a second end portion in fluid communication with the interior of the container (12) and a collection receptacle (22, 42) for collecting particulate material. The collection receptacle (22) is provided with a plurality of openings (43) allowing the passage of fluid and particulate material smaller than a predetermined sized, and is removably connected.Linvention concerne un système et un procédé permettant dirriguer et de collecter un tissu provenant dune cavité corporelle dun patient. Ledit système comprend un dispositif dirrigation et de collecte permettant dinjecter un fluide dans la cavité corporelle. Le dispositif dirrigation injecte un fluide dans la cavité corporelle par création dune pression positive dans ledit dispositif afin dexpulser le fluide dirrigation du dispositif dans la cavité corporelle. Ledit fluide dirrigation est évacué de la cavité corporelle par la pression négative résultante dans le dispositif, ce qui permet de récupérer le fluide dirrigation et un tissu détaché quelconque ou une matière particulaire dans ledit dispositif. Le fluide dirrigation est filtré, ce qui permet de collecter le tissu évacué et la matière particulaire dans un réceptacle de collecte et disoler ledit tissu évacué et ladite matière particulaire dans le fluide dirrigation.
