PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gnotobiotic silkworm that is low cost and is advantageous in terms of cost, also eliminates an ethical problem, eliminates the need for long-term breeding, and enables examination concerning useful bacteria properly.SOLUTION: A method for producing a gnotobiotic silkworm of the present invention is characterized by comprising (A) a step of preparing the silkworm where the intestinal bacteria are not detected, and (B) a step of fixing specific bacteria in the intestinal tract of the silkworm where the intestinal bacteria are not detected. Preferably, the specific bacteria are lactic acid bacteria.
