PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe agent and cosmetic without no side effects that increase epidermal barrier function and form a healthy epidermis, as well as may form a flexible and stretchable skin by inhibiting aging of dermal fibroblasts and further to provide an active ingredient that can solve a plurality of skin troubles at once by one ingredient.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a cell differentiation promoter, a barrier function improvement agent, a SA-β-Gal activity inhibitor, a radical scavenging promotor, and a cosmetic containing as an active ingredient a fermentation product obtained by fermenting a root portion of Ixeris dentata, such as Hemerocallis fulva var. kwanso, Hemerocallis fulva, Hemerocallis middendorffii var. esculenta (Hemerocallis middendorffii var. esculenta), Hemerocallis flava var. minor., and Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus L. of Liliaceae Hemerocallis, with lactic acid bacteria.
