PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having a simple configuration which is easy to wear and maintains feeling of its fitness toward the human body.SOLUTION: The absorbent article has an inner pad 1 which includes an article body 10 having a liquid permeable surface sheet 11, a liquid impermeable back sheet 12 and an absorbent body 13 interposed between the surface sheet 11 and the back sheet 12, and is arranged from the abdominal side of the human body to cover the back side via the crotch region. The article body 10 has, on both its longitudinal ends, an abdominal extended part 30 and a back extended part 40 extending further in the longitudinal direction than the absorbent body 13. A front end of the abdominal extended part 30 and the back end of the back extended part 40 have locking parts (fastening tapes 33 and 43) for arranging and fixing the inner pad 1 on and to clothes worn by the human body. The abdominal extended part 30 and the back extended part 40 are configured to shrink in a direction in line with the longitudinal direction of the article body 10.
