PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring agent for a fiber, which has high safety and imparts high color fastness to the fiber.SOLUTION: The coloring agent for the fiber contains reducing sugar such as xylose, arabinose, glucose, mannose, galactose, maltose, cellobiose, lactose and maltotriose. A method for producing colored fibers includes a step of treating fibers with the coloring agent for the fiber.
