PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel ascorbic acid derivative which is rapidly dissolved in water and has excellent stability in water and which can be incorporated into an aqueous cosmetic composition, a cosmetic composition containing the same, and a cosmetic composition containing the same. Is an issue. SOLUTION: This is obtained by reacting (A) ascorbic acid and/or ascorbic acid derivative, (B) protein and/or hydrolyzed protein, and (C) dibasic acid and/or dibasic acid anhydride. Provided are an ascorbic acid derivative, a cosmetic composition containing the ascorbic acid derivative, and a cosmetic composition containing the same.
