The present invention relates to a composition for topical application comprising at least 5% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition, of a fatty phase dispersed in an aqueous phase, hydrophobic silica aerogel particles with a specific surface area per unit of mass (SM) ranging from 500 to 1500 m2/g and a size expressed as the volume-mean diameter (D[0.5]) ranging from 1 to 1500 µm, and at least one hydrophilic acrylic homopolymer or copolymer. The invention also relates to a cosmetic process for treating keratin materials, which consists in applying to the keratin materials a composition as defined above, and also the use of this composition in cosmetics or dermatology, and in particular for caring for, protecting and/or making up bodily or facial skin, or for haircare.
