PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple agent type hair cosmetic which is composed of at least two agents and is capable of providing sufficient conditioning effect to the hair and favorable texture at rinsing, and a method for treating hair.SOLUTION: The multiple agent type hair cosmetic includes at least two agents, i.e. a first agent and a second agent, that are intended to be applied to the hair in this order, provided that the first agent includes an amino-modified silicone and the second agent includes an anionic surfactant and a cationic polymer. Preferably, the first agent includes &ge2 mass% amino-modified silicone, the second agent includes 0.1-3 mass% cationic polymer, and the mass ratio of the anionic surfactant to the cationic polymer is 1-30.
