PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope in which a curving operation wire has resistance to low temperature plasma sterilization and besides, breakage of the curving operation wire inside a curvature part is efficiently prevented by reducing the ability of curving operation without any increase in inside diameter and outside diameter of a coil pipe.SOLUTION: In an endoscope 1, the outer peripheral surface of each curving operation wire 22 is provided with a coating part 25. The coating part 25 is formed of material having resistance to low temperature plasma sterilization using peroxide. The coating part 25 includes: a first film formation part 26 provided in a part located in the interior of a curvature part 7 of a curving operation wire 22 and a second film formation part 27 provided in a part located in the interior of a bellows pipe part 6 of the curving operation wire 22. The film thickness t1 of the first film formation part 26 is larger than the film thickness t2 of the second film formation part 27. The first film formation part 26 is in contact with a corresponding wire receiver 23, and the second film formation part 27 is in contact with a corresponding coil pipe 45.
