PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an absorptive article, capable of preventing a hot melt adhesive from sticking on teeth.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the absorptive article comprising a stretchable gather members arranged in a longitudinal direction of the absorptive body so that it extends in the longitudinal direction and arranged on both side parts along the longitudinal direction, includes obtaining a continuous body of a stretchable member extending in one direction by adjoining a continuous body of an elastic member extending in the one direction onto the continuous body of a belt-like sheet under its elongated condition with a hot melt adhesive obtaining a continuous body of a stretchable gather member by mating the arranged body of the continuous body of the stretchable member in the continuous body of the stretchable member between a pair of tooth space rolls with mated tooth space in a state in which the continuous body of the elastic member is elongated in the stretching direction of the elastic member, and applying a stretch process to the arranged body in the stretching direction of the elastic member and cutting the continuous body of the stretchable gather member into a predetermined length.
