PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pants-type absorbent article capable of improving the air-permeability in the longitudinal direction between the skin and the waistline part of an external wrapping material.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article comprises an absorbent body 3 and the external wrapping material 2. Under-waistline gathers and waistline gathers made of composite stretch parts are formed over the whole circumference in the under-waistline part D and the waistline part F in the external wrapping material 2. In the composite stretch parts, an outer layer sheet 21 and an inner layer sheet 22 are jointed to each other with intermittent joint parts in the direction of extension/contraction of the composite stretch parts and the orthogonally crossing direction. The elastic members 23 and 24 are disposed in the composite stretch parts not to pass over the joint parts and are not fixed to the sheets 21 and 22. A plurality of pleats continuously extending over the elastic members 23 and 24 are formed in the sheets 21 and 22. The plurality of pleats extend in the whole circumference of the waistline part F and the under-waistline part D from the outer end of the waistline part F to the inner end of the under-waistline part D in the longitudinal direction of the external wrapping material 2.
