An object of the present invention is to provide a novel food which has a flavor different from that of an egg, and has a kakitama-like appearance and a better texture than a kakitama. A food containing a persimmon-like coagulate, wherein the persimmon-like coagulate includes a liquid or paste-like material, xanthan gum, and an egg white material. The liquid or pasty material is selected from soy milk, milk, fruit juice, fruit puree, vegetable juice, vegetable puree and vegetable paste, and the egg white material is preferably powdered egg white.
