PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input unit for a simulated walking experience device which can precisely sense stepping actions of a user and which ensures the user's safety.SOLUTION: Provided is an input unit for use in a simulated walking experience device comprising: a monitor 30 for displaying an image； an input unit 10 for detecting vertical motion of feet of a user and generating a stepping signal； and a control unit 20 for controlling a display image displayed on the monitor based on the stepping signal. The input unit comprises: a body portion 11； a fixed portion 13 fixed to a top surface of the body portion； and two rotation portions 12a, 12b which are supported on the top surface of the body portion so as to be capable of rotating independently from each other. The two rotation portions are arranged adjacent to the fixed portion on a same side with respect to the fixed portion.
