PURPOSE: A composition containing myrrh extract and pharmacologically acceptable carrier is provided to induce apoptosis of leukemia cells and to ensure various uses. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating leukemia contains active ingredients prepared by dipping and extracting pulverized myrrh at 50 Deg. C for 24 hours. A method for preparing myrrh extract comprises: a step of pulverizing dry myrrh to prepare pulverized myrrh； a step of dipping the pulverized myrrh in an alcohol solvent of C1-4 under 60 Deg. C to obtain active ingredients； a step of drying alcohol solvent containing active ingredients to obtain dry powder of the active ingredient； and a step of freezing the solid powder. 본 발명은 건조된 몰약(沒藥, myrrh) 분쇄물로부터 지방족 극성 용매를 이용하여 추출되고 유효성분인 몰약 추출물 및 약리학적으로 허용 가능한 담체들을 포함하는 백혈병 치료용 조성물을 제공한다. 상기 몰약 추출물은 미량만으로도 백혈병 세포의 사멸 및 증식 억제를 유도할 수 있어 다양한 약학적 제형에 폭 넓게 적용될 수 있다.
