PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus for collecting correction data which are averaged and well-balanced by using an appropriate coil in pre-scanning and performing imaging to obtain image data whose picture quality is improved by using the collected correction data.
SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a reception coil decision means and an image data acquisition means. The reception coil decision means chooses either a coil 24a for the whole body or a coil element 24c on the basis of a photography planning region R and emotional information about coils 24a, 24c as the reception coil for pre-scanning, which collects data for obtaining the correction data. An image data acquisition means obtains correction data from data collected by pre-scanning and obtains image data whose image quality is improved by performing imaging that reflects the obtained correction data.
