PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mammographic apparatus which allows an operator to easily place the mamma of a subject on a photography table and to quickly set the mamma in an appropriate condition for photography.SOLUTION: A data storing section 22 stores a table or the like used to determine positions of an X-ray tube device 13 or a detector 15 on the basis of the relationship between the photography direction and photography mode of the next the photography and the present directions of the X-ray tube device 13 and the detector 15 when the mamma is placed on the photography table for the next photography. When the next photography is registered as CC while the X-ray tube device 13 and the detector 15 are presently positioned at MLO photography positions for the right mamma (the following procedures are identical between right and left direction), a program that does not move the X-ray tube device 13 but moves the detector 15 to a CC position is actuated.
