PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for persistently restraining generation of malodor derived from urine by clarifying a malodor component more highly contributing to urine odor than ammonia in a living environment and by inhibiting enzyme related to the generation.SOLUTION: There are provided a new &bgr-glucuronidase inhibitor comprising oak (myrobalan) or its extract. An environmental hygiene product and a sanitary product contain the &bgr-glucuronidase inhibitor. There are also provided a composition for restraining generation of urine odor and a method of restraining the generation of urine odor using the &bgr-glucuronidase inhibitor.
